MEMPHIS - Feb 5, 2015 - Woman Indicted On Sex Trafficking Charges

A woman was indicted Thursday on sex-trafficking charges for allegedly posting provocative online photos of a 14-year-old girl and having her perform commercial sex acts.

Sara Higgins, 33, faces felony counts of trafficking for commercial sex, especially aggravated sexual exploitation of a minor and advertising commercial sexual abuse of a minor.

She is being held on $100,000 bond at Shelby County Jail East.

Higgins was arrested last August at a motel in the 6000 block of Macon Road after the teenage girl told investigators that Higgins recruited her to work as a prostitute.

The girl said Higgins took provocative photographs of her and posted them online under “escort” services.
