MEMPHIS: April 7, 2016 - Man convicted of Sex Trafficking involving girl

Twenty-seven-year-old Harold Davis of Memphis was found guilty this week in federal court in Memphis to sex trafficking a minor and using the Internet to conduct unlawful activity.

Court records show say Davis had met the female runaway and subsequently advertised her on a website for paid sexual encounters. A Shelby County sheriff’s deputy stopped Davis’ vehicle for a traffic violation and noticed the girl in the backseat. The deputy also observed an unusually large amount of condoms and female hygiene products in the car.

The FBI determined the website ads were linked to Davis’ phone number and email.

Davis faces a mandatory minimum sentence of 10 years. Sentencing is set for July 14.
