Description
Three suspects who Memphis police say brought a woman from Nashville to sell sex as part of their prostitution ring will make initial court appearances Friday.
Carlos Perez-Herrera (This is clearly a human trafficking ring-- the women were forced to sell themselves.)
According to police reports, investigators raided an apartment Tuesday at 6335 Lake View Trails, near Mt. Moriah and Kirby Parkway, after they got information that two men and a woman were forcing another woman to have sex with customers.
Arrested were Carlos Perez-Herrera, 28, Juan Hernandez-Lopez, 34, and Loudes Ochoa-Flores, 23.
Ochoa-Flores was found naked in a rear bedroom with used condoms on the floor, according to a police affidavit.
The other woman in the apartment, who is 22, told police her life was threatened if she didn’t take part in the sex trade. The suspects told police they’d gone to Nashville and brought her to Memphis.
Further investigation revealed that the men distributed business cards, provided security and collected money while the women were on the job.
Perez-Herrera, Hernandez-Lopez and Ochoa-Flores are charged with trafficking for sexual servitude and promoting prostitution.
Perez-Herrera and Hernandez-Lopez are being held on $100,000 bond. No bond had been set for Ochoa-Flores.
